FSC Study Abroad Opportunities

FSC Study Abroad Opportunities:

Faculty Led Programs are custom-made study abroad experiences created by FSC faculty. Offered during the Summer or Winter terms, FLPs are an excellent way to earn credit on a specific topic or integrated topics. Some FLPs involve experiential learning. 

• Summer 2025 in Taiwan and Hong Kong: study International Cinema (MLG 300) and Chinese culture with Prof. Qing Ai. The course begins in Taiwan, where you will experience Taipei, Hsinchu and other locations; the final segment of the course takes place in Hong Kong. May 31 - June 13, 2025.
• Summer 2025 in South Italy: study Italian language and Sustainable Innovation in the stunning city of Lecce, Italy in partnership with the Libera Universita' Mediterranea. Sustainable Innovation (STS 391) will be led by FSC professor, Francesca Polo; Italian language course will be taught by the staff of LUM. Both courses (6 credits) involve excursions in southern Italy. July 7 - August 3, 2025.
• Summer 2025. World Class Internship in Edinburgh: this is a recurring overseas internship in Scotland led by Prof. Brian O'Keefe. August 1-16, 2025. 
• Winter 2025-26. World Class Seminar in Ghana: Prof. Kwame Insaidoo will lead in an immersive seminar in Ghana with visits to Accra, the Elmina Castle, Kakum National Park, and fishing villages. December 2025 - January 2026.

Farmingdale Semester and Summer Programs:  FSC offers and semester and/or summer programs in Cyprus, Italy, France, and Spain. The programs in Nicosia and Florence are open to all SUNY students. 

• University of Nicosia, Cyprus: study for a semester or in the summer on this stunning Mediterranean island. UNIC offers a wide array of courses from Liberal Arts and Social Sciences to Engineering,  Health Management. and Business. 
• American University in Florence (FUA), Italy: studiate d'estate nel cuore d'Italia! This is a summer opportunity which offers a choice of 3, 4, and 6 week programs. There are many courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Business and Communications. 
• University of Rennes, France: this semester program is aimed at upper level Business and Economics majors; FSC students will pay FSC tuition.
• University "Ramon Llull" in Barcelona, Spain: this semester program is aimed at upper level Business and Economics majors; FSC students will pay FSC tuition.
