Distinguished Faculty Ranks Nominations

Faculty members holding the rank of full librarian or full professor are eligible for nomination. The faculty selected under this program represent the State University's recognition of consummate professionalism, groundbreaking scholarship, exceptional instruction, and service contributions that are broad and significant. The four categories of Distinguished Faculty Ranks are Distinguished Professorship, Distinguished Service, Distinguished Teaching, and Distinguished Librarian.

In addition to SUNY’s criteria, the local Selection Committee requires demonstrated leadership in the production of at least two refereed artistic or scientific accomplishments, accepted grants, or publications in a refereed environment (including but not limited to) academic journals, conference proceedings, trade journals, books, and online publications, within six years of their nomination. Additionally, nominees must be previous recipients of a Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.

In compliance with SUNY guidelines, you may not self-nominate for the Chancellor's Awards for Excellence or the Distinguished Faculty Ranks program. To nominate an individual for any of the programs above, please submit the nomination form no later than Thursday, May 23, 2024.

If you have any questions, please email Christine Harrigan, Executive Assistant to the Provost Christine Harrigan.
