(Accepted students will start in the program in Spring'25)
Deadline: October 15th, 2024
Applications will open and be accepted beginning September 1st, 2024
Applications and supporting documents will be submitted to the link below. Please read and follow all of the information/instructions below.
Students seeking a curriculum change to Applied Psychology should note the following:
- The Curriculum Change Application must be filled out completely.
- Students must also submit a Statement of Interest in Psychology. The brief statement (250 words maximum) should explain why you are interested in transferring to the Applied Psychology Program and / or how the degree will contribute to your post-graduate plans. This statement should be typed and submitted with your electronic application.
- Students applying to the Program should have a strong academic record. The Applied Psychology Major is a small, academically challenging program with competitive admissions. Admissions will be granted on the basis of students' academic records and available space.
- There are no specific course requirements for transfer applications, but the admissions committee looks for strong performance in MTH 110 (or another math course), BIO courses, and/or psychology courses.
- Along with your application, you must submit a student copy of your unofficial Farmingdale College transcript from OASIS or a DegreeWorks PDF. You do NOT need an official transcript.
- If this is your first semester at Farmingdale and you have no prior grades from this institution, a Mid-Semester Progress Report Form is required to support your application to the Applied Psychology Program. Students with concerns about their academic performance may also use this form to demonstrate improved performance in the current semester. Please DOWNLOAD the form to send to your faculty. The form can be completed in-person or electronically. If you have difficulty uploading the form to your application, you can email it directly to Jennifer Gonder
- You will be notified whether you have been accepted two weeks after the application deadline. *****Please note: you should be advised by your current academic department and register for classes as advised while awaiting admissions notification. If you are accepted to the program, you will be asked to come to the Psychology Department to review your registration and make appropriate changes.
If you have any questions before you submit your application, please e-mail our Program Chairperson: Dr. Jennifer Gonder – Jennifer Gonder or the Department Chairperson: Dr. Michael Figuccio – Michael Figuccio
