About Us
The Writing Center is a free service for registered students currently enrolled in courses. Peer and professional tutors work with students in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
Our goal is to help students become confident in expressing their own ideas. Whether you are just getting started or want to go from a B+ to an A, we assist you at any stage, from thought to page, and welcome all writing projects.

The Writers' Cafe is back! Join the peer writing tutors in the Writing Center for helpful refreshers on successful papers. No sign-up required. Walk-ins are welcome!
Writers’ Cafe offers a unique and supportive space to enhance your academic writing skills. Held on select Thursdays from 11 AM to 12 PM, each event is student-led and focuses on a different phase of the writing process, such as paper formatting, grammar, sentence structure, references, and more. Enjoy the relaxed, fun, and safe environment while improving your writing.
All FSC students are welcome, no matter their writing level. With games, crafts, snacks, and music, no two Writers’ Cafe events are the same. Be sure to claim your spot on bookings ahead of time. You do not have to bring any assignments/papers. We can’t wait to see you there!
Students who attend at least 4 Writers’ Cafe events this semester will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. For more information, contact the Writing Center at writingcenter@farmingdale.edu.
