Faculty & Deans
- Request an Information Session: Staff and faculty play an essential part in encouraging students to study abroad. One way to increase internationalization on campus is by requesting a global student ambassador or abroad staff member to present to your class or at your event. Classroom presentations are conducted at the beginning or end of class/event for 5-15 minutes. The presentations give a general overview of programs and the benefits of education abroad. Presentations can be made for prospective students, clubs, residence halls and various events around campus. If you are interested, please complete an online form and a member of the International Education office will confirm your request.
- Lead a Program Abroad: Interested in leading your own program abroad? Farmingdale is dedicated to building cross-cultural connections and collaborations with international universities. Please contact the International Office to schedule a meeting to discuss your ideas and designing a program. We will help review budgets, travel expenses (airfare, housing, in-country expenses, meals and incidentals), payments and program design (time of year, length, courses and experiential activities).
- COIL: (Collaborative Online International Learning) also known as International Virtual Exchange, aims to provide faculty and students the opportunity to learn, interact, and collaborate with peers abroad. The SUNY COIL Center aspires to deliver global learning and intercultural experiences in the classroom through innovative online technology. Please contact Jeannette Sinnott, the FSC Study Abroad Coordinator and COIL Advisory Council Member for more information.
