The Murray Pasternack School of Engineering Technology Scholarships

Thanks to a generous and historic $5 million gift from alumnus Murray Pasternack, Class of 1960, Farmingdale State College is proud to offer 14 prestigious scholarships to incoming Fall 2026 freshmen and transfer students pursuing degrees in architecture, aviation, computing, construction management, and engineering technology.
What Each Scholarship Offers
- $2,500 per year for up to four consecutive years of full-time study for freshmen, or up to two consecutive years for transfer students, through degree completion.
- Open to incoming Fall 2026 freshmen and transfer students in any BS major within the Pasternack School of Engineering Technology.
- A dedicated faculty Program Coordinator providing mentoring, advising, and professional development support.
- Membership in a cohort community offering shared experiences, peer support, and structured co-curricular programming.
Eligibility Criteria
- Incoming full-time Fall 2026 freshmen or transfer students pursuing a BS degree in the Pasternack School of Engineering Technology.

Demonstrated academic achievement:
- Freshmen: Minimum high school GPA of 88
- Transfer students: Minimum college GPA of 3.3
- Submission of the FAFSA is required; the College may consider financial need when awarding scholarships.
How to Apply
- Accepted students must submit their interest in the scholarship and submit an essay through the Farmingdale State College Scholarship Survey available in the Accepted Student Portal by February 15 for priority consideration. The Scholarship Committee will start to review applications and award scholarships to eligible students after this date. Recipients will be notified of their awards by mail and must accept by the deadline in the award letters.
