From sitting in the class, to standing in front of it, George Fernandez '77, a professor in the Visual Communications department at Farmingdale State College reflects back on his time spent at FSC. Torn between his love for the arts and his desire to please his parents, Fernandez graduated in 1977 with a Associate Degree in Business, only to continue on and obtain his MFA in Illustration from Marywood University. "Farmingdale taught be me to be a student. And then later at Farmingdale I learned to be a teacher. And that business degree helped me achieve success as an artist and illustrator early on", says Fernandez. Needless to say, it all came full circle.
