Louis Chan Ph.D. received his doctoral degree in Economics from the the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago in 1992. His research is on the microfoundations of economic growth, institutional economics, and urban economics. His papers show how efficient specialization and efficient organization of work in general can have growth effects. A specific topic of his research is "Economics of Specialization and Growth."
