Distinguished Service Professor 10 Month Email Lupton Hall, Room T201
Hazem Tawfik, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor, senior educator for graduate, and undergraduate students in engineering, engineering technology and technology management. As an engineering researcher and the former Director of the Institute for Research and Technology Transfer (IRTT), was able to secure sizable federal research grants for the development of efficient renewable biomass energy  system designed for the production of ultra pure hydrogen for the utilization in optimally efficient fuel cells to produce clean renewable electric power to energize a cost effective micro grid.  In addition, Hazem was the key faculty who led the efforts for the development of the Technology Management Master Degree Program at Farmingdale State College.  In addition, he was able to develop strong research program with Stony Brook University and Brookhaven Haven National laboratory to jointly support senior projects for our students in the Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) department. Considerable number of the MET Department's Senior Students and Local Industries have mutually benefitted from this applied research program.  Moreover, our graduates who were seeking graduate degrees were able to complete their research thesis through this collaborative program.
