In my position as a tenured Professor in Farmingdale State College's School of Business, I lead classes focused on sports management, sports law, and management theory and principles. As Chairperson of the Sport Management Department, I work with colleagues and the college's administration to build out the sports management major, including curriculum, faculty, and outreach to organizations and companies for service learning opportunities, including internships, among other responsibilities.
Business experience - Before joining Farmingdale, I worked as a management consultant and market researcher for 12 years. Based on those work experiences, and my academic training, I was fortunate to develop: excellent interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to think creatively; experience with marketing, media, brand management and consumer promotions research; the ability to problem-solve at a tactical as well as strategic level; strong organizational skills; experience with team building and management of multiple constituents; and the ability to develop relationships with senior executives at current and future partners and within the organization.
Specialties: Academia - sports entrepreneurship, sport law, sport and development/social responsibility, international sports management (with a special interest in the Indian market)
