Dr. Adam A. Filios is a professor and the chairperson of the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology at Farmingdale State College. Prior to joining Farmingdale State College in August 2006, he worked as a senior research scientist at Corning's Photonics Research and Test Center in Somerset NJ, and in Nanodynamics Inc., in New York. His industrial and research experience includes optical fiber communications, nano-photonics and nanoscale semiconductors. He received a B.Sc. degree in Physics from the University of Athens, Greece, and M.S.E and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He has authored or co-authored two book chapters and over 40 publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. His current research interests include nano-photonics, quantum communications, and silicon photonics.
