Immigration Law Workshop: What You Need To Know To Assist Students

Farmingdale State College is proud to partner with the Tortora Sillcox Family Foundation (Sillcox Scholars Program)  on the important topic of immigration and how it may affect our students. The objective of this session is to give student-facing staff and faculty an overview of immigration law, the agencies and roles involved in the immigration process, and the various potential pathways to citizenship. There will be ample time for Q&A, particularly as it relates to student situations you may be aware of. We hope to give participants some tools to help you listen better and ask appropriate questions while not crossing the boundary of providing legal advice.  Importantly, you will also come away with contacts at local non-profit legal services organizations that you can have strong confidence in and can provide to your students.

Lawyers and immigration advocates from the following organizations will join us:

This event is open to all FSC Faculty and Staff members.
