Mechanical Engineering Technology

The Mechanical Engineering Technology department offers programs in this very broad industry. Mechanical devices and products and systems are needed for numerous reasons. Sometimes it is to make life easier, more cost effective, or perhaps just entertaining.

A spark of an idea leads to the creation of a product. This industry strives to make that idea a reality. Whether it's building a prototype, or manufacturing the actual product that will eventually be sold, each stage is important and skilled engineers are required. Our department builds upon the foundation of knowledge with hands-on experience that provides our students with a competitive edge.

Outside the Classroom

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is our student leadership club. This professional organization of engineers gives students opportunities to gain engineering experience through hands-on projects, meetings, industry trips, and guest lecturers.
