FSC Welcomes Ronald Jackson as Vice President for Student Affairs
To the Campus Community:
I am thrilled to announce that Ronald C. Jackson, EdD, vice president for student
affairs/dean of students at Brooklyn College, has been appointed as FSC’s vice president
for student affairs, effective April 14, 2025.
In this role he will oversee the Division of Student Affairs providing leadership
for student life initiatives at the College including the Dean of Students Office,
Student Activities, Residence Life, Health and Wellness Center, Disability Services
Center, Veterans Services, Title IX, and Campus Mental Health Services among other
student-focused programs.
Many of you met Ron during the interview process and witnessed his collegial attitude
and insight into all things "student affairs." He brings 25 years of experience to
this role, including service as the dean of students at Brooklyn College, the Community
College of Philadelphia, and Marymount Manhattan College. He also served as manager
of student development and activities at Columbia University and resident director
at William Paterson University. Ron has been vice president for student affairs at
Brooklyn College since 2017. He has deep experience working within Division III NCAA
commuter schools and strong partnerships with both academic affairs and enrollment
management. Dr. Jackson received a BS in Biology at the University of Michigan, an
MA in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University, and an
EdD in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.
Thanks to Michael Nembhard, Greg O’Connor, and Lukas Miedreich who, since early 2024,
have collectively and artfully managed student engagement and activities on our campus.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank the search committee, led by Michael, for
their time and dedication to ensure a successful search, and to all members of the
FSC campus community for their contributions and patience throughout this process.
I know you will all join me in welcoming Ron to our Farmingdale family when he starts
in his new role next month.
