Holocaust Remembrance Day
To the Campus Community:
Today is the United Nation's designated Holocaust Remembrance Day, the day that the
worst of the concentration camps, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated. While eight decades
since liberation may seem ancient to many, there are still those alive today who lived
through the horrors of those days and can all-too-easily share how their then-home
countries fell victim to this tragedy.
History shows us that communities that demonstrate solidarity, civil discourse, and
empathy, wherever they are and especially during challenging times, can come together
and bring about positive change. It is essential that we pause, take careful note
of where we stand, and remember where we've been.
Please take a moment today to pause, to reflect, and to never forget.
