Vice President for Student Affairs Search
Dear Colleagues:
We are excited to wrap up our search for a vice president for student affairs. A strong
pool of about 70 candidates emerged which will yield three finalists who will come
to campus in the very near future. In order to have a new vice president on board
by the beginning of the spring semester, we'll need to conduct interviews during finals
week. Waiting until the spring semester begins for on-campus interviews would cause
an eight-week delay and a much later start for the new vice president.
We are hopeful that as many of you as possible will be available to attend open sessions
to meet each candidate. We are in the process of coordinating these visits at this
busy time of year, and the exact timing will soon be shared. Because we know there
might be challenges to being on campus at these times, we will offer a virtual option
so that those who can't attend in person will be able to participate. If you cannot
make a session, please forward your questions to Michael Nembhard, chair of the search
committee, who will ensure your questions are asked.
There will also be an opportunity to share your thoughts about each candidate. A link
will be made available after each visit so you can supply your feedback. Your input
matters and will be reviewed and considered by the search committee.
Thank you for your participation and for understanding the timeliness as we finalize
this search.
