9/11 Memorial Ceremony
To the Campus Community:
As is happening across the country, we will come together as a community in remembrance
of 9/11. We will hold a memorial event on Wednesday, September 11 at 9:57 a.m. in
the amphitheater behind the Campus Center.
As members of an institution of higher learning in New York, recalling 9/11 is woven
into our fabric. Our collective memory and the memories of those you might know who
were affected by this tragedy, help us reflect on the impact of an event that changed
our nation. Whether a student, faculty member, or staff, this is one way we can support
our surrounding community and remind ourselves of all that binds us together. Our
unified spirit of giving to those in need, and supporting those facing challenges,
is reflected in how we recognize the sacrifices and scars of those still mourning
that terrible day.
In the spirit of all that makes Farmingdale a special and caring place, I hope you
will join me in our campus observance. Please plan to arrive by 9:45 a.m. to properly
honor and remember this important moment.
