Economics is generally known as a social science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. It's the study of decision-making and how people use resources and respond to incentives. Economics is not just about money, it's about how goods are scarce and how society must use its resources efficiently.

The economics department strives to teach students on how to use quantitative tools to test theories, analyze data, and make informed decisions.

Graduates of 2017-18 reported they secured employment six months after graduation. Employers include: Apple, Honeywell, Peoples United Bank, Sam Tell, St. Johns, and more.

Outside the Classroom

There are opportunities outside the classroom specifically designed to enhance our students' learning experience. Students can join Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) which is an International Honor Society in Economics or the Economics Club to expand on their critical thinking skills and work together to better understand the materials in their courses.
