Message from Presidential Search Committee Chair Dr. Patricia Hill Williams
Dear Farmingdale State College (FSC) Campus Community Members:
The FSC Presidential Search Committee has concluded its virtual interviews, and I
am delighted to announce that the committee has selected a small group of candidates
for further discussions.
During the representational search, members of the FSC College Council and other designated
members of the FSC campus community will be invited to meet with the semifinalist
candidates during a campus visit. The structure and makeup of the Presidential Search
Committee and the representational groups ensure that all areas of the college have
“a voice” in the process. Given the competitive nature of the market and the need
to safeguard the privacy of the professionals involved, it is imperative that the
names of the candidates remain confidential throughout the process.
The Presidential Search Committee and the campus constituent groups will confidentially
meet with the semifinalists. The Presidential Search Committee will review the feedback
from these interviews, and from references, and together will weigh the merits of
each of the semifinalists.
The FSC College Council will recommend three candidates to the chancellor. The chancellor
will select a nominee and forward his recommendation to the SUNY Board of Trustees.
The SUNY Board of Trustees will then vote to approve our next president.
Please email Zulaika Rodriguez, associate vice chancellor for executive recruitment and leadership development and
system liaison, with any questions about this type of process.
Thank you for your support and understanding of this process.
Sincerely,
Dr. Patricia Hill Williams
